Brushes & Combs

Choosing the right brush for your dog may not be as easy as you think. Different breeds and different coat types have different grooming requirements. Check below to find out which brushes and combs will best suit your pet.

Long, Drop Coats mat easily. They require deep combing down to the skin to assure there are no hidden "snags" that can turn into full-blown mats and tangles.

Fine/Medium Greyhound Style Comb

Great for finding snags in daily maintenance. Round tip stainless steel pins glide easily through the coat.

Magic Spring Comb

Good for larger dogs with fuller coats, or working through matted areas. Floating spring-controlled pins retract and countour to your pet's body.

Dematting Blades

Stainless steel serrated edge blades help to break through stubborn mats. *USE CAUTION WITH DEMATTING BLADES - SHARP BLADES CAN CAUSE INJURY*

Handle Pin Brush

Everyday maintenance brush for keeping your dog free of tangles. Use in conjunction with steel greyhound comb for maximum tangle defense.

Flat Slicker Brush

Use in conjunction with dematting blades and comb to break through mats. Not suitable for everyday brushing, as it does not reach down to the skin.

Curly Coats are also known as "non-shedding", but that is not entirely accurate. These dogs shed, but loose hair tangles into the rest of the coat, making daily maintenance an absolute must.

Coarse-Coated Terriers are usually clipped down the back to leave lovely feathering don the legs and a skirt across the belly. While clipped areas don't require much between-groming maintenance, it's necessary to comb through the feathering every few days. Neglected featherings can become matted fairly quickly.

Short, Flat Coats don't require a ton of maintenance but they do seem to shed everywhere! Keeping them de-shedded can seem like a daunting task, but a few specialized brushes will make it a great deal easier.

Shedding Blade

Available in 3 sizes, shedding blades are great for removing loose guard coat. Single-side blade teeth draw through the coat, gripping loose hair and pulling it free.

The Furminator

The ultimate de-shedding tool. The furminator pushes through the topcoat to remove the dead undercoat and loose hair.  When used regularly, will reduce shedding DRAMATICALLY.

Zoom Groom

For use on dry or wet dogs. In the tub, the zoom groom will help massage and work shampoo and conditioner into the coat. On a dry dog, massaging action removes piles of loose coat with the added benefit of giving your pet a relaxing massage.

Thick, Double-Coats are the notorious shedders, especially during the spring and fall. With some especially plush breeds (some malamutes/huskies/keeshonds/pomeranians etc) you may have to deal with tangling and matting as well as shedding, which requires a comb. The following brushes will help you keep your dog's coat under control.

Magic Spring Comb

Good for larger dogs and those with fuller coats, or working through matted areas. Floating spring-controlled pins retract and countour to your pet's body, removing "clumping" hair easier.

Undercoat Rake
