Ask Bill: Shop Dogs

Q:  I came into your shop the other day and there were puppies there in a play area.  Are they for sale?

A:  We do not sell any live animals at Happy Tails.  The puppies you saw are actually our foster puppies.  Mom, Yanna, and her litter of 6 came to stay with us almost 6 weeks ago from the Sebastian County Humane Society.  There are 2 girls (Porsche & Lexus) and 4 boys (Jag, Audi, Aston & Royce).  We are raising and socializing these puppies in order to help them find forever homes.

Right now, the puppies are just about 6 weeks old, on solid food, and cute as buttons (as I'm sure you know!).  They're eating solid food and are started on crate training.  These babies are looking for homes and in order to help ensure that they get the best possible start in life, we are offering free puppy kindergarten and basic obedience classes to the families that choose to foster and/or adopt pups from this litter

These puppies have been raised in constant contact with humans, thanks to their full-time puppy-sitters.  Randi Kirby (12) and Caylee Kirby (11) have been working hard getting the pups used to being handled and the girls will also help us start the pups on their first obedience training.

You can find out more about our foster dogs by visiting the nursery or you can email Kris at kris@luvhappytails.com.  For more information about adopting or fostering, contact Bekah at the Sebastian County Humane Society at (479) 783-4395 .
