We are looking for children and families who are willing to foster puppies for the Humane Society. Foster puppies and families will be urged to attend puppy obdience classes (free of charge) and not just provide a home to live in, but also work with these puppies on housetraining and basic manners to get them ready to live in "forever" homes. Families must be approved by the Sebastian County Humane Society to participate in this program.
In conjunction with the Sebastian County Humane Society, Happy Tails is starting a foster program for a new mama and her babies. By bringing Mama dog and her puppies into an environment less stressful than a kennel, each mom and her babies will stay with us, begin their training, and hopefully be placed in forever homes. We want to help ease the burden - at least somewhat - on shelters that are becoming increasingly overcrowded. We would like to involve area children in the care and training of these puppies, to hopefully educate them on proper care.
On Tuesday, our first foster came to stay with us. We will be updating on the puppies regularly, as well as uploading pictures to their very own gallery.
Finally, Yanna is very 21st century and she has a twitter! Follow her and her babies at Twitter.com/babypuppies.

Interested in adopting a puppy? It's a huge responsibility and not just financially. Be sure that a pet is right for you before adopting. And if so, make sure you have everything on the New Puppy Checklist.
