Nature's Variety High Pressure Pasteurization

In the wake of their voluntary recall of some raw frozen products, Nature's Variety has implemented a new High Pressure Pasteurization process that will assure that all their raw frozen and freeze dried raw foods have no harmful bacteria.

High Pressure Pastuerization was discovered a century ago when scientists realized that harmful bacteria were absent in deep sea levels and that they could not survive if introduced either. Technological advancements have allowed us to duplicate this phenomenon and used to kill harmful bacteria in natural and organic foods. The process preserves taste, enzymes and nutritional integrity.

HPP is the only scientifically recognized pasteurization process that does not use heat or irradiation to kill harmful bacteria. The process is currently used in the human fooc industry on products such as guacamole, oyesters, lunch meats and natural fruit juices. It causes little to no loss of nutrition of raw food, and little to no effect on the food's naturally occurring enzymes.

Nature's Variety is doing everything possible to assure that its food is safe and healthy, and the ensure that your pet is getting the best nutrition possible. High Pressure Pasteurization is yet another way they are ensuring the highest quality in nutrition and safety.
